This is a wilderness horseback elk hunt. Low temps from could be in the teens to high temps in the 80's. Appropriate clothing is important Long hours of glassing helps spot game from dawn to dusk so the best optics you can bring will be helpful. Bring the firearm that you shoot well and are comfortable with.
