Description

A great opportunity to hunt mountain lion in Utah! This vet owned outfitter is passionate about all things hunting on the Wasatch front. Licenses are over-the-counter. These hunts are conducted in the Wasatch Mountains and Cashe area. These hunts are 1:1 fully guided 5 day hunts. It is best for hunters to be flexible with weather conditions. Outfitter prefers if hunters can be available on call (72 hours notice) with snow conditions so fresh tracks can be cut. Hunters will required to provide their own meals and lodging unless selected for outfitter provided for an additional cost. Non-hunters are allowed to accompany for a small fee.

      Hunting license and tag not included in the hunt cost. Non-resident lion tags are roughly $300 and Utah Hunting License is roughly $75.00. Hunters will be required to check in their lion with UDWR officer if lion is killed. *HUNTS AVAILABLE FOR 2023/2024 SEASON.

      Refund Policy:

      Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

      Description

      Cougar Hunts with Hounds is a very physical hunt. Most Hunters average 4-8 miles hiking after cutting track. Hunt is conducted by driving snow packed roads until track is cut, then hounds are released and hunter and guide start hiking behind dogs until cat is in tree. No females and no kittens are to be shot. Only Mature Toms are allowed. Hunt Days can be split up on a 2 day now - 3 day later type hunt to accommodate optimal weather conditions. Season dates are November - March. Terrain is made up of Steep and rugged canyons, covered in dense Cedar and Juniper Trees. Lots of cliff ledges and high mountain skre rock fields. Elevations range anywhere from 5500'-9000' in elevation. This is a 1:1 fully guided 5 day hunt. If a hunter kills early, unlimited coyote hunting can be arranged for remaining days if requested.

      Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

      Final flight destination city is Salt Lake City, Utah. Outfitter can arrange for hunter pick up and drop off. Field transportation will be provided in the form of ATVs and trucks on snow packed roads.

      Description

      Hunter will need to be prepared for colder weather and heavy hiking. Waterproof boots, gaiters, and a good layering system is a must. Outfitter will provide meals and lodging for an additional charge. Hunters will be traveling via snowmobiles or trucks for this hunt. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
